Having only just finished sending Soul Power out the door a new game is already well along the way to release. Destroy the World: The Revenge of Professor Menace is a much simpler and smaller game that Soul Power, but it’s a surprisingly fun game nonetheless. Born out of a game jam that my friend Cory and I attended a couple weeks ago, Destroy the World is a 1950s Sci-fi themed physics-based game. Extremely meditative in pace, players must repel asteroids from the Earth using a super-powered magnet. If the asteroids get through and collide with the Earth, it’s not the end of the world (literally). You’ll need to crash asteroids into each other to merge them into a super asteroid, which can then be used to destroy the Earth.
Our completed game from the game jam is already available to play in browser. The mobile version currently in development will begin with a few extra game options and a bit more polish. The game will be made available for free first on Android and then on iOS.
